The fully adjustable (height, length and width) Freedom Bed Rack from Overland Vehicle Systems gives you the most flexible bed rack system on the market. Often you are forced to compromise when buying a bed rack and have to decide what height and length is best for your needs. Now you can have it all! Use the lowest height setting for mounting your roof top tent so it sits behind the cab. Adjust the height up to 30" tall to carry long items such as ladders that need to clear the cab.
Simply remove the rear crossbar to free up space for when you carry taller items in your bed, or just remove the entire rack when not needed. It just take minutes to remove the uprights. The multiple tie down points, t-slots in the crossbars, and side rails give you the flexibility to carry all the gear you need for your next adventure.

The bed rack is well constructed and is very versatile. The instructions really ****. We basically just had to figure it out on our own and put some things together twice. The bolt packages and instructions said two different items for the same thing with no illustrations. Anyway, it’s a good product once you get it together.
Thank you for your review! We will be sending your feedback on the instructions to OVS. We appreciate your feedback!
The rack was easy to install, and fits my F250 pretty well. The rack is stiff and makes a great rack for my roofnest!
Thank you for your review! We're very happy that it was easy to install and that you're enjoying the rack! We appreciate your feedback!
Product good so far, instructions freakin terrible. Basically worthless. But the rack seems to be kickin *** so far.
Thanks for sending the pic! The Freedom rack looks great on your Tundra! We are aware the instructions are not the best, and have been advised that the manufacturer is working on new ones, as well as a video. Thanks for your patience through the install process.
I was skeptical ordering this because I couldn't find many reviews or videos on this rack but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. I chose this rack because it was the only one I found that was universal and fit my 2018 Silverado but also because it was tall enough that things put on top of the rack clear the roof of the truck. In my case a canoe. It came in two boxes but both were packaged very well. Every piece was inside a piece of plastic and then cradled by Styrofoam to keep it from moving anywhere. Installation took me about 4 hours by myself. It came with instructions but they could have been clearer. The hardware that came with it was sorted in labeled bags. There was a bit of trial and error on my part because the instructions didn't tell you what order to do things. I was able to install it with the clamps that were provided which saved me from drilling in my bed rails. The quality of the rack is great. All the welds look great, the powder coating looks good all around. Everything is nice and rounded, the tie down loops are smooth, there's no sharp spots anywhere. With it full assembled it is very sturdy and has no play at all. When you grab any part of the rack and push or pull, the truck will rock back and forth before you feel any give in the rack. I'm excited to get some overlanding accessories and get them mounted on the crossbars.
Thanks for the extensive review, and glad to hear the new Freedom Bed Rack is working out for you!
So far my experience is great. The racks was delivered within a week from the order and in good shape. They look great and are super solid.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your new bed rack! Thanks for the feedback.
Once installed, the rack is VERY solid and sturdy. I installed it on my 2003 Toyota Tundra (1st Gen) access cab. It was one of the few racks I found that had the weight capacity I was looking for and also fit a 1st Gen Tundra. Instructions were fine if you have some mechanical aptitude. I did have to buy longer bolts to get the bed rail mounting brackets to work. I am not 100% on the fitment of the brackets to the bed rail but it appears it is not going anywhere. Overall great rack, very good quality. Customer service was INCREDIBLE, helpful and very responsive. Only recommendation for the company is to have the R&D team evaluate the mounting brackets for the 1st Gen tundra. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for your honest review. The Freedom Rack is truly top-notch! We really appreciate your kind words and are pleased that our customer service hit the mark! For Toyotas with a bedrail system, OVS recommends these T-Slot nuts for mounting: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TTHNWPN/?coliid=ISS1TQSTS7NCM&colid=M40YBMBUAE8A&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1. Enjoy your rack!
Medium Overall Experience. Instructions were difficult to follow and had issues of fitting my truck bed. Also, when RTT was installed, I had to drill new holes in support arms and add bolts going all the way through to keep them from sliding down. This is with tent empty, about 170 lbs total across all supports. I am happy with the rack, looks good and functions well other than the slight mods I had to do to keep it safe to use.
Hi Richard, thank you for your review! We're glad you're happy with the Rack! OVS is in the process of updating their installation instructions. We appreciate your feedback!
Great product, lousy instructions, please invest in technical writers to improve this product
Your Ranger looks great with the OVS Freedom Rack! Yes, the manufacturer is in the process of updating the instuctions. Thank you for your patience.
Ordered this rack on a Friday had it by the following Friday Neatly wrapped, labeled and organized However the instructions were about pointless, possibly label what nuts are used where because I seem to have an excess of leftover caps, also maybe provide a few sets of t screws for the sliding side rails for accessories please All in all great product solid built we’re gonna put it to the test next week on the DBBB, KAT, and TAT I’ll let ya know how it handles 3 weeks of beating and use on these trails but by looks and feel of it on my truck I have no doubts it will handle what’s about to come
The Freedom Rack looks great on your Chevy! We appreicate the feedback, and your patience with the installation instructions.
Overall once installed the product looks nice and feels very solid, couple of areas where is could be improved..No discernable wind noise that I could here after install. 1, The Instructions are horrible... pretty much a guessing game on what goes where from a hardware perspective. 2. on a full size truck it would be nice if the cross bars were just a bit longer. on a RAM 2500 short bed the front crossbars wont go all the way to the lowest setting do to interference with the crossbar ends. 3. The length Cross bars are only 47 inches max so if you have a "real" short bed or a long bed the rack will be more centered on the bed with space in front of and behind the vertical pillars.
We appreicate the feedback, and have shared your comments on the insturctions with the manufacturer. I know they are working on a more formal install guide.
As a whole it’s been a decent rack, for being drill-less and universal. It looks great and once you figure out the install is pretty cool. The mounting hardware is cheap Chinese metal and it shows, so use your own tools.
Hi Spencer, thank you for your honest review and thank you for sending us the picture of your truck and the rack. Your truck looks great with the rack and the tent! We will share your feedback with OVS. Thank you!
I love the product but the installation paperwork not very useful. I had to guess how things needed to go on my 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500. I did have a box of tie down loops that I still do not know where they go. I would recommend this product. The structure is very very sturdy.
Glad to hear you are satisfied with the rack! Please email a pic of the tie down loops to support@rooftopoverland.com and we can take a look at them for you.
The good: The Rack is nice, and sturdy with a good look. Customer service was prompt to help with my issues The bad: Instructions were terrible Requres additional parts and some trial and error to attach to a 3rd gen Tacoma ($94 between amazon for the T-slot nuts for bed rail and home depot for bolts n washers ) Some washers and a few bolts were missing, had to buy at Home Depot ($16) One pillar did not have the threaded part for the top lengthwise crossbar to put a bolt in (still have not fixed, and not sure how) Lengthwise crossbars should be longer for the long box Tacoma, currently at max adjustment and could use another 12 inches The sealing gasket for the top crossbars (width) must be drilled for the end cap, not sure how it would work with additional attachments in that slot.
We appreciate your patience with the install, as we understand Toyotas with the bed rail system need some additional hardware. Our customer service team will follow up to see if there is any further assistance we can provide.
