Tuff Stuff Rooftop Tent Truck Bed Rack, Adjustable, Powder Coated, Black, 40″

Notify me when this product is available:

The Tuff Stuff universal bed rack is ideal for use with any roof top tent or truck bed. Their bed rack is designed to universally install directly on top of any truck bed rail using our provided pinch plates.

Due to this rack being universal (not made for any specific vehicle) they have included custom pinch plates that will pinch the inner lip of your bed rails. This allows the installation to be performed without drilling holes into the bed rails. The bed rack WILL NOT FIT if there has been a tonneau cover, or any other accessories installed that affects the inner walls of the bed rails. Their rack uses a unique sliding center rail which allows the rack to be installed on various widths of beds from full-size Ford F350’s to mid-size Toyota Tacoma’s.

For Toyota Tacoma using the factory installed cargo rail system, our rack will perfectly align with your rail and would require the use of custom T-nuts that can accept 3/8″ diameter bolts. These can be purchased for an additional $99 for 8pcs - VIEW HERE.

NOTE:1st generation Ford Raptor beds have no lip to attach the rack to, so you will have to use nut-inserts, self-drilling screws, or anchors to install the rack on the bed.

    So far so good

Ordering process was seamless I received an e-mail with tracking info and the delivery status did not change for a week. Then it appeared on my front steps. Easy to assemble and install. They don't go into a lot of detail on assembly and installation but it's fairly straightforward. I suggest a C clamp to make up the gaps on the bed rails it makes getting the pinch plate bolts started a little less frustrating. I purchased the 51" model and installed on a Sierra 1500. I like the look and it is certainly strong. The only thing I'm a little disappointed in is a lack of available mounts and brackets for hi lift jacks, traction boards etc. They may be available but I cannot seam to find them. Just going to require some fabrication on my part. All in all this rack was within my budget and should serve its purpose.

    Ask a Question
    • Can it be positioned to work with a toolbox on the bed?

It can be placed behind the tool box.  This one is only 40" long so it's a good option.

    • Does this fit a 1st gen Tacoma?

Yes, it's adjustable to fit beds up to 68" wide

    • What are the weight limits for the rack?

800lbs static for the 40" and 1100lbs static for the 60".  They do not give a dynamic rating.
